The best of all is the section with the tutorials. You could narrow your search by level of difficulty (beginner, easy, intermediate, advanced and very advanced), and technique (beading, wire work, metal clay, polymer clay, lampwork, bead weaving, etc.) Users are allowed to rate the tutorials, ask questions, write comments and post pictures of jewelry they have created while learning. There are both free and paid tutorials (with prices between 4 and 10 US Dollars). Registration is free of charge. Advanced users, who have achieved the status of teachers, can post tutorials for sale and earn passive income.
"Jewelry Lessons" is created by Eni Oken, the author of the fabulous wire-wrapped necklace you see at the right side. Click on the image and it will take you to the corresponding listing on Eni's artisan website, where you could see more pictures. Such an amazing masterpiece!Another useful creation of hers is the Jewelry Price Calculator. I found it just a few days ago, but it turned out to be well-known and much-loved by jewelry makers. I used to spend ages calculating my prices - and dreading it. Eni's calculator makes it all easy - you simply fill in your hours of work and material costs and get results in 7 popular price scenarios - plus suggested wholesale and retail prices.
And just to let you know: I am not connected to Eni Oken, and will not benefit from writing this blog post. I just stumbled on her sites, found them helpful and decided to share with you.
Excellently written article, if only all blogger offered the same level of content as you, the internet would be a much better place. Thank you for posting. Please keep it up!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind and encouraging comment. I do plan (and hope) to be back soon:-)
