Online Conference About Generating Traffic

Being a creative crafty person, I find it hard to deal with anything that has to do with marketing (do you have the same problem?).

I happened to listen to a few sessions of an online conference about Internet marketing and generating traffic with guest speakers, who definitely knew what they were talking about. It came my way via Twitter, and as listening to the live web casts was free of charge, I decided to give it a try.

Until then my knowledge of Internet marketing was limited to the "specialists", who promise to teach you how to make millions without working at all. That's why at first I got skeptical when reading the title "The Ultimate Traffic Generation Telesummit".

However, soon I realized that this event wasn't about spamming at all. The speakers stressed on creating quality content as a Number 1 requirement for success. They discussed methods of using this great content in order to generate traffic to a website (or blog), and thus establish successful online business. Everything was completely new to me, and I was truly impressed.

Organized by Melissa Galt (you might want to follow her on Twitter), it featured major Internet marketing experts like Kim Roach, Denise Wakeman, Lou Bortone, Adam Urbanski, Charlie Page and Shannon Herod (to name a few). Although they discussed Internet business in general, and not craft businesses in particular, there was plenty of useful information even for me. Each guest spoke for 60 minutes about their area of specialization, bringing up different topics and sharing a vast palette of ideas and tips. I wish I had come up with the idea of blogging about it, while it was still on!
