A Very Crafty Royal Wedding

The Royal Wedding is taking place on April 29, 2011, so I decided to check in what ways it has inspired the crafting community. What I found was a major tendency to tag almost everything containing the British national flag, as well as the colors red, blue and white with a Royal Wedding label. Then there were some examples of unkind caricatures along with a variety of buntings, napkins and over the top princessy-themed designs.

Finding a few more interesting Royal Wedding-related handmade products on Folksy, Etsy and DaWanda proved to be hard and here you can see the result.

This cheeky "i prefer harry" necklace by "Tea Please" put a smile on my face - even though I have no personal preferences about any of the princes. However, preferring Harry might be a good idea, especially as Prince William is going to be officially taken off the market in a matter of hours.
The Royal Family decided against commemorative tea towels, which might have increased the interest to the following design. It is the only item in whodidthis' Etsy shop and has been sold 55 times in 10 days (the shop opened on April 19, 2011).
Another intriguing Etsy geekery is this royal engagement portrait by ushanz. It is a domino mosaic portrait and must have taken ages to make.
DaWanda comes with a nice and believable replica of Miss Catherine Middleton's engagement ring. It almost looks like the real thing but made of glass and rhinestones.
