Custom-Made Bridal Gowns by Sue Harold

Yesterday Craftdom shared an article about wedding dress patterns. However, most of us are not talented seamstresses and would never consider making their own bridal gown. Shopping around for a ready dress is an alternative, but a further opportunity is to consider having a custom-made one. The advantages are that while you still have a say on the design and can request alterations, someone else is taking care of choosing the materials and completing the project.

The Renaissance-inspired bridal gown you see on the right is created by Bristol-based Sue Harold from LaCosturera and listed on Etsy. This breath-taking piece of sewing art is made with ruffles, lace, embroidery and beadwork and can be customized and recreated in any size.

Sue is specialized in working with silk and you can see her love for it. She offers a broad palette of bridal gown designs - classic, trendy, romantic, elegant.

I love her "Audrey Hepburn"-style gown with princess line shape and lace bodice.
However, there are also more youthful designs as the Pixie Short Wedding Dress.
How about this rather dramatic burgundy taffeta gown with ruffled halter neck neckline, sweetheart bodice and appliqued lace contrasts, side-swept skirt and asymmetric styling?
